January 6th, 2009 benmurphyonline Posted in art, art world, artists, blogs, coolness, design, interviews, museums, rollerblading 2 Comments »

Chris got me this interview before the election… so this way, way overdue! But it’s a good interview and Chris’ work is the real deal. So enjoy!

CHRIS PIASCIK is an artist and designer from the Boston area. Well-known in design circles, his work is gaining popularity. The man behind PRINT BRIGADE, he is also a designer for ALPHABET ARM DESIGN as well as doing his own design work. I had an opportunity to catch up with Chris for this interview shortly before the election. So, take a look at his work and ideas, and enjoy! -B

KANYE WEST’s new album 808s & HEARTBREAK finally dropped yesterday! And, by all accounts (including mine), it’s brilliant! Very evolved sound, great lyrically, just a really good all-around listen. Kanye continues to be operating on another level.

NIKE DUNK GYRIZO SPD

November 11th, 2008 benmurphyonline Posted in Fashion, coolness, design, shoes, sports No Comments »

I realize the NIKE DUNK GYRIZO SPD came out back in October, but - c’mon - how killer are these?

Now, I don’t have $220 to drop on these for mountain biking, but these are the coolest kicks I’ve seen for cycling. And they’re legit clipless shoes, “designed after their classic Dunk Low, Nike 6.0 has created one of the most exciting cliplesss shoes in decades. These very special shoes are all SPD compatible with an adjustable upper Velcro strap for stability. Kevlar laces, metal grommets and durable rubber outsoles round out all the great technical aspects of this amazing shoe…”

I feel like a kid in a Foot Locker… They are limited edition and you can get ‘em at DANSCOMP. -B

INTERVIEW: 7 QUESTIONS WITH ELNA*

November 9th, 2008 benmurphyonline Posted in art, art world, artists, coolness, design, interviews 4 Comments »

All Images, courtesy of ELNA*

I stumbled across ELNA*’s work earlier this year on Flickr… and was immediately impressed. There’s an awful lot of talent on Flickr and it’s really hard to stand out - but ELNA definitely does with his bold lines, bright colors, and clean designs and street art… Design that’s good enough to have just landed him a gig with MATIX CLOTHING! I approached him about an interview and he was down.

I told him that his interview would post several weeks ago, but my life has just been crazy - so here, finally, is the long overdue ELNA interview… enjoy! -B

7 QUESTIONS INTERVIEW: ELNA*
